Occupational therapy offers people suffering from mental illnesses a therapeutically oriented and practical means to learn to help themselves. It can help recover or regain impaired abilities, compensate for functional disorders, and prevent future relapses.
Our occupational therapy program specializes in the treatment of psychiatric and geropsychiatric diseases, as well as motor functional disorders in adults. Through comprehensive evaluation, the setting of practical goals and continuous review of the course of therapy, we provide the highest degree of professionalism, success, and transparency to our patients throughout their treatment. We focus on the main areas of human activity (self-sufficiency, productivity, and leisure), as well as on the needs, strengths, and developmental possibilities of each patient, this may include the social environment if desired.
The treatment is carried out by experienced specialists:
Our occupational therapy team has had many years of experience in the field of psychiatry as well as extensive further training aimed at the comprehensive and holistic treatment and support for patients with psychiatric diseases.
Occupational therapy takes place individually or in groups, as per the official regulations for therapeutical treatments. Treatment can also take place at the patient’s home when applicable, such as in situations where help is needed to overcome challenges and problems in the immediate residential environment. In addition to creative, holistic, practical, and functionality-centered methods, cognitive training and work therapy programs are also applied. A wide range of methods and materials, adapted to suit the needs of the patient, are used to achieve the individually agreed upon objectives.
One of our unique occupational therapy programs at "Das BOOT" gGmbH is our woodworking workshop. No prior knowledge is required to participate in this activity and each user is individually and expertly guided in working with wood and the various implements required for this kind of activity.
Beyond the various occupational therapy programs, we regularly carry out prevention courses. We would be happy to discuss the various co-pay options available with your health insurance company.
